Why is the DLC content locked?
The official release notes require the first completion of the main game. Check that milestone and your DLC access before looking for a nonexistent starting shortcut.

How should you interpret difficulty advice?
The original release expected substantial permanent upgrades. Version 15.07 later smooths the difficulty curve: level one supports partially upgraded players, while level two targets players beyond Tower Difficulty 7. Keep both announcements in chronological order.
What is actually included?
The announcement confirms three biomes, additional enemies and bosses, new weapons and the conclusion of the main story. It does not provide a complete room-by-room route or every ending condition.
